Travel Checklist
This is to share my travel checklist with you. Hope this will be useful to all travelers.
Documents
- Personal Identification Card (preferably issued by government with photograph), visiting card, driving license
- Accommodation plan and alternate risk plan documents
- Passport, Visa
- Transportation(Air / Train / Bus) tickets, accommodation / resort / hotel reservations
- Addresses, and phone numbers of where you’ll be staying, local enquiry and emergency phone numbers in a separate sheet to keep in pocket
- Luggage I.D. tags
- Guide book, maps
- Address book
- Books, magazines, travel journal / travelers diary
- Pen, pencil, few A4 plain papers, stamps, postal covers
- Keep a primary record of details for your next-of-kin or someone who can be contacted in case of emergency.
- Photocopies of all the above documents and pack it separately
- Email scanned copies of all these documents to yourself and a friend
Clothing
- Night dress,travel wear, inner wear, shorts, handkerchiefs
- Jeans, trousers, shirts, tee shirts, shawl, jackets, sweater, gloves, belts
- Shoe, socks, sandals, sun glasses, cap, hat, ties, jewelry
- Swimsuit (Goggles, head cap, shorts / dress)
Medical
- Pain reliever, insect repellent, antiseptic, cotton
- Carry your medical record with blood group, allergy details and any serious ailments
- For longer trips, check all your vaccinations are up to date with your medical practitioner, dentist and optician too.
- Travel insurance
- Birth Control
Money
- Currency, credit cards, cheque book, travellers’ cheques, wallet
Toiletries
- Mirror, soap, toothbrush, paste, comb, hair cream / gel / oil, eeodorant, shaving kit, shampoo
- Make up,sunscreen, lip balm, towels, tissue
Miscellaneous
- Preserved food, bottled water, bread and honey, biscuits, snacks
- Backpack, shoulder bag, raincoat, umbrella
- Blanket, inflatable pillow, eye masks
- Game boards, cards
Equipments
- Mobile phone, organiser
- Still Camera, video camera
- Lighter, emergency lamp, swiss knife, matches, safety pins
- FM receiver, radio, music players, DVD Player, iPod
- Electrical converter, charger, adapter, batteries
- Binoculars, compass
- Travel lock, travel iron, alarm clock, watch
- Laptop, RW CDs / DVDs, floppies, memory stick, bluetooth dongle
- Reading glasses, contact lenses
Knowledge
- Immigration policy and procedures.
- Local transportation mode and rates.
- Local currency, conversion rate and economics.
- Holidays and festivals, dictionary of important words, such as water, food, greetings, etc.
- Laws, driving rules, customs, dress code, religious sentiments, local nature care, wild life preservation, alcohol and drug habits.
- Nuances of local markets, street food and rates.
- Weather condition
